Little League World Series Baseball 2009 takes gamers back to the world of adolescent baseball, where huge contracts and giant egos take a backseat to old-fashioned love of the game. Building on the light-hearted gameplay established in Little League World Series Baseball 2008, players once again use the Wii Remote to pitch, field, and bat in an over-the-top manner, tossing flaming fastballs and building up a talent meter to hit gargantuan home runs. Gamers can pick an existing team or create a fully customized squad using the team editor, then play through a number of regional tournaments as they make their way to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. There are a number of new stadiums in which to play, new skill challenges to undertake, an expanded list of collectible bobbleheads and trophies, and players looking for human competition can join up to three friends for multiplayer action.

Not the Little League Baseball of old
I was really looking for a decent baseball game that wasn't overly complicated with Wii controls. When I was a kid, I owned "Little League Baseball" for NES and, to this day, is one of my favorite games of all time. The controls were simple, the game play was fun, and it was somewhat realistic. This game isn't terrible, but isn't great at the same time. The hitting controls leave something to be desired as just about every motion of the Wii controller makes the batter swing. However, it's very difficult to hit the ball with any power. The pitching controls are terrible. You have 3 pitches essentially...fast ball, change, curve...which is pretty normal for Little League. However, you really can't locate the pitches very well. The fielding is kind of a nightmare...you don't have a ... First impression is that my 5 year old son loves it but 6 year old daughter not very interested. A little more detailed baseball game than the one is Wii Sports. Has stats for every player and Brent Musburger(sp?) commentates. He ends repeating himself alot but the kids didn't notice. Graphics are great and great "baseball" sounds. When you are the batter you definitely see a variety of pitches to hit so if your child hasn't played a video baseball game before it may take awhile to learn to hit. They're not unhittable it just may it take awhile. Pitching is the same way in that you can pitch a variety of stuff and not that difficult to learn, very similar in technique to the Wii Sports baseball game. My child loves this game and I find it hard to pull him away from it.
Plays great! Lots of fun for hours on end! Great value for the money. My childs friend has this game and he paid much more for it than I did. My child has begged me for this game for about three months. I finally broke down and shopped on ebay for it and when I won it, my child jumped up and down with excitement. It is really a great game.
