We Self installed this fan --as many have observed, tearing out, cleaning up, preparing the roof for installation was the hardest --most tedious-- part of the about 2-hour installation since I was replacing a passive vent. The old dicor sealant was troublesome. Anyhow, it rained several inches the next day --no leaks! The fan itself runs like it's twin-- just fine -- except this fan can be reversed to draw in cool air at night when that's appropriate, a nice feature, along with temperature control. While yet another remote feels redundant, several people on my team can not reach panel-mounted buttons without a step stool, it's a necessity. Based on the opinion of those who have listened to both, this fan is quieter than the Fantastic fan equivalent. I'd do it again, and may for that tiny, noisy fan in the bathroom--we'll see.Read full review

This is a great fan. I like the fact that I can use it in the rain. My son installed it in about an hour. as i am handicapped, and unable to climb on the roof. But Passing tools through the roof made quick installation of the van. Plus having all the extra materials like silicone caulk and sealer tape on hand. Also made the job faster. It's power is strong and quite. The reverse feature is a total plus to have with this fan. Plus temperature control is a plus. Can't go wrong with this fan. I love it.

Replaced a manual non-powered roof vent in a RV trailer. Hardest part of installation was cleaning the roof of the old sealing material. Installed in less than a day. Got 12 volt power from ceiling light bus in roof of RV. Would love to be able to connect it to the internet for control and monitor status from home. The automatic function works very well and I am happy with this.

I’m so glad that I went with the remote feature of the maxxfan because of where it’s located high into the ceiling wouldn’t been able to reach it conveniently by hand. Perfect location in the kitchen to pull out all of the cooking smoke and keeps the kitchen cool. And it’s surprisingly quiet.

Easy install, and works well. The pulling in fresh air really a eye opener. Remote takes some getting use to but once you figure out it’s a good set up.
