First Gear 1/34 scale diecast 1957 International R-200 tow truck
In the 1990's First Gear produced a series of 1/34 scale diecast model trucks featuring medium and heavy duty trucks from mainly the 1950's. A large number of the models were International R-series medium duty trucks. International Harvester produced the R-series beginning in 1953 through the early 1960's. The First Gear models are generally very good and have fine detail and finish. This model is of an International R-200 which was a 24,000 lb capacity medium duty truck, powered by the International Red Diamond 406 cu in six cylinder engine of 175 HP. This model is the long 193 inch wheel base truck with a wrecker body. The R-200 came with 11.00 x 20 tires but the First Gear model is incorrect in having 11.00 x 22.5 wheels and tires from a Class 8 heavy duty truck.
