    Victorian personalities

    If I weren't a Dickens' freak, I probably would never have bought this dvd. As in many of his stories, Dickens shows the stiff cruelty of some fathers to their children, perhaps because of his own childhood. Usually, one gets that nice feeling that everything turns out good at the end of the story with Dickens. These Victorian personalities just made me irriated, especially the daughter's unerring sweetness and forgiveness. But if you like Dickens, I'm sure you'll like this.

    Excellent...Mr. Dombey!

    I found this BBC mini serial marvellous! I adored the way Julian Glover played his part. He was a magnificent mr Dombey! I loved revival of Victorian era as well. Victorian ambience and period costumes were perfect. Plot was exactly all you can expect from Dickens. Human vanity and cruelty evolve and meet divine retribution at the end. Perfect!!!

    Aptly named

    I did enjoy this movie and would recommend. I love English movies from that time period. The costumes were appropiate for the era. It was filmed nicely also.
