The Super Nintendo game was faithfully reproduced with the limited hardware capabilities of the classic Game Boy. As far as I'm aware, Faceball is the only truly 3D game for game boy. Several other games have a mock 3D through single frame advances, but Faceball manages to produce fairly fluid 3D motion. Characters are well animated, albeit simple, but the simplistic style of the entire game only adds to it's charm. Control is lacking, making it nearly impossible to win in a shootout. Your smiley will recover "HP" with time, however, so if you manage you run you can survive to shoot again. This is not a common game, and I highly recommend picking up a copy for your collection. As much as it is a collectors item, it is also very fun!
This is a good game to play with friends using the Gameboy Four Player Gamelink. The game is nothing special and the graphics are simple simulating a 3-D maze. For a one player it gets monotonous. I purchased this game to have an additional copy to use with another Gameboy.

I love this game! I recently went to a video game store to buy another copy of this game for multiplayer, and the guy there just laughed at me, and told me it was a bad game. Which, it kind of is, if you compare it to today's games. But, when it came out it was the bomb-diggity. It was one of the first player shooters that I can remember, and it was not that violent. I mean seriously, you are shooting balls at smiley faces and such. Anyway, the multiplayer is the best part. I have 4 of these games, but I am trying to get 16, because supposedly you can play linked to 16 players at once. I have not found much on the internet, nor have I read or heard of anyone actually trying it! So I am on a mission to do so, thanks!
The original first person shooter. Slow by today's standards, but it kicked all sorts of butt when it came out back in 1991. Cool for many reasons, but at the top of the list was the fact it had 16 player multi-player capability. I only knew 4 people who had the game, so I have not been able to try out a 16 player deathmatch. Bummer. I thought there were only 70 levels, but I recently made it to level 72! Awesome. Get it... if you can find it!
