Following in the giant mecha footprints of Omega Force and Bandai's original 2007 animé and game series crossover, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is a third-person hack-and-slash combat game in the well refined Dynasty Warriors style, and features characters and settings from five Universal Century-era Mobile Suit Gundam animé series. From a medium-range behind-the-back perspective, players face mob after mob of enemies to defeat by using heavy melee attacks and few ranged weapons. Characters and mechs have different strengths, although all are powerful against most regular enemies. Players can choose their pilot and suit separately, allowing them to mix and match favorites from the various television series, or to fine-tune overall fighting stats for their preferred styles of play.<br><br>As in the original Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game, the main "Official" mode of play leads players through a set of semi-scripted missions along developing storylines. Other modes of play allow players to develop friendships and rivalries among various characters, and to unlock fantasy match-ups between characters and mobile suits from different Gundam timelines and series. At least 60 Mobile Suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, and Char's Counterattack storylines can be unlocked for play, more than tripling the original game's 19. With a 2009 release Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 returns to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and debuts on PlayStation 2, in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the mighty Gundam franchise.

This is a great game if you either a Gundam fan or you love a good button masher! Control different pilots and suits. Play various characters that change the story and gain new parts after each battle to improve your favorite Gunsam suit!

I bought this game because I liked the first one and wanted to see if this had anything better to offer... and it does but at sacrificing other things from the first ie the made for the game story mode. The original mode is lacking the array of characters you once had as well. Bu they did add a unique story system that brought in a element that the gundam series always had, friend/allies and enemies. Depending on what you do and who you fight you can gain access to certain battles that allow access to parts to upgrade your gundam, you also have to gain a license for any gundam you want to pilot that your character didnt pilot. They have added super sized gundams and other things as well. Over all a fun game to play but you must be a fan of either dynasty warriors or gundam to really ... For all those who just like to press buttons when it comes to fighting games, the dynasty warrior franchise has the market cornered on this section. I have always have problems either doing the proper sequence or timing when it comes to fighting games with combos of buttons or direction pad, thus happy to play this type of Gundam fighting games. Graphics are very good, along with the game play. I have the 1st Dynasty Warriors Gundam, but in Japanese, thus, it's a whole different experience for me to actually understand and be able to read everything that's happening during gameplay. Anyways, I recommend the game for the shear fact that it'll keep you entertained for hours upon hours. You get the options of playing either mission mode or follow closely to the anime series based upon the ... I have a friend who is a big Gundam fan and plays this game all the time. While not the biggest Gundam fan myself I was intrigued enough to give the game a try. I like the graphics and the action is pretty good as are the sound effects. The voice acting can be really bad but at least fits the character of the anime. There's a ton of content here. Official mode, Story mode, lots of pilots and scores of Gundams to build and upgrade. The basic action of "kill lots of gundams, fight a named pilot or giant gundam, win the battle" doesnt change much but the differences in the pilots and the handling of the actual gundams themselves are so different that even a casual fan like me could have a pretty good time with this game.I have a friend who is a big Gundam fan and plays this game all the time. Great fun game if you’re into the dynasty warriors series
Easy controls, repetitive dialogue is tedious, wish there were other modes I think. I have to look into that. Repetitive gameplay. Thank I still enjoy it
