The refills are dried up and old. Judging by the price printed on the packages, I would estimate that these refills are 30-40 years old. This should have been noted in the description. I was very unhappy to find that they are essentially unusable. They were not worth what I paid for them. However, Kat left a nice note in the packaging thanking me for patronizing her small business, which was pleasant to receive.

Mr Barnes, First of all, thank you for taking time to leave feedback. I’m glad you liked the note. I wish you would have contacted me directly so I could try and rectify the issue. I did describe them as being vintage and in unopened packages. There was no way for me to know they were dry. I hope you are happy with the solution I sent you. Again, thanks for your feedback.
