    if you are a marx brothers fan get this movie and watch it

    duck soup was such a flop in 1933 that paramount dropped its contract with the marx brothers. set in freedonia a mythical country that declares war on neighboring sylvania for the hell of it leo mccarye's comedy holds nothing sacred and leaves nothing unscathed. but in 1933 the american economy was in collapse democracy was faltering at home and abroad and hitler was on the rise in germany american audiences were simply not in the mood for a political satire. this movie was banned in italy during world war 2 but this is a great movie to kid dictators. this is one of those great classic movies to get.
