    dodged a few tickets so far

    I bought this product because I travel on the Mass Pike often and there's a ton a speed traps along the Pike. I waited a while before writing this review because I wanted to get a feel for it first. I find it works great sometimes and doesn't work as well other times. Its variability in efficiency may just be due to the fact that when I passed a particular trooper on the side of the highway, their radar wasn't on. Most of the time this product picks up radar trap signals far before the police car is even visible which is nice. There was one instance when the alarm didn't go off until I was actually passing the police car which didn't sit well with me. I don't know much about police radar, so maybe that instance was radar-related and not detector-related. False readings occur often in ...

    Beltronics Vector 995

    After reading reviews for over a week and actually buying two Beltronics 995 units and an Escort Passpost 8500 X50, I must decide which unit to keep. I owned an Escort Passport in the distant past, and don't know what ever happened to it, but the technology has changed so much. The Beltronics seems to be a nicer unit. It just feels more solid, and is slightly smaller than the Escort. As some people know, the two companies recently combined, and both of these units is built on the same framework.. I think the Escort falses more than the Beltronics, but I think they are very similar in performance. The main reason I think I will stay with the Beltronics is the Ku Band. Passport doesn't have it, and it is not used in the USA yet, but if you travel internationally, you might have use ...

    A friend in need, a worthy unit indeed!

    I bought this unit on a whim for a buddy who was travelling north to visit family. He wanted something affordable, easy to find and reliable. He mentioned he'd had a unit like this in the past and was always very pleased with it. This unit arrived and he immediately installed it, turned it on and without problems was in business. Since then, I've asked him about it's performance and he says, "Man, it works great!!, saved me several times!" He's no electronics major by any means, so, the ability to plug and play with little complications was a big plus he's added. All in all, he's very happy with this unit and would buy another one. Price = quality....4 out of 5.

    Amazing product, brand, quality, detection, stick with a Bel

    Any of the Beltronics Vector series are amazing radar detector. I personally bought the V995 but I also own the V955. Both are impressive but of course with a good brand name you get what you pay for. The V955 is the best entry level detector on the market, if you do your research it outperforms Cobra's top of the line model in detection. Whether you go with the low model or the higher models you will not be dissappointed.

    Simple and effective.

    Simple and effective. It paid for itself within the 1st 2 weeks of having it. Most officers around here seem to use Ka band but, I am not complaining about the others going off occasionally for motion detectors. I travel alot and ya never know what kind of antique radar gear some small town gun slinger might shoot at you. This unit covers all the bands, old and new. Be ready to hit the brakes if your local troopers are using Pop radar. The unit buys you a little time in range for the other types.
