All of this is contained in a slender 18.9mm metal body at an affordable price. One of more obvious advances in the JV100 is the aesthetics, the shell has been upgraded to a high-quality metal body and its soft, curved edges give it a sophisticated look. The elegant and stylish FinePix JV100 produces high quality images yet is very easy to use. Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO) intelligently detects the scene type you are shooting and optimizes the camera's focus, exposure and white balance, so whether you're photographing flowers or a holiday landscape, you will get flawless photos at the press of a button. Photos are all too often spoilt by people blinking or grimacing. Smile & shoot Mode works with Fujifilm's highly-acclaimed Face Detection technology to detect smiles on faces: it will not take a picture until it detects a smile, so you're guaranteed happy shots every time. Another feature is Blink Detection warns you if you have captured an image with people blinking, so you can re-shoot if necessary. The JV series features Targeting AF which is perfect for when you need to take a picture of a moving subject and can't keep your subject in the frame. Just switch Targeting AF on and it will track your subject and ensure that you achieve a crisp picture with your subject in the center of the frame in perfect focus. For extra versatility try Panoramic Shooting Mode which allows you to stitch three photos together to create a stunning panoramic image. And, for those occasions when stills just don't do a moment justice, the JV cameras feature HD Movie Mode with sound which lets you record those precious memories and relive them time and time again.

    Nice camera with great features

    This is a great little camera. It has internal storage, plus you can use an SD card for additional storage. It has a selector for different modes for pictures and making videos. It's compact and easy to carry. I'm very happy with my purchase.

    Good bang for the buck

    This camera needed a battery, other then that, it has lots of features higher priced cameras have. It has an attached wrap around protective case. The battery & memory stick are both in the same compartment, and battery seems to last for a fairly long time. My other cameras were ruined by "someone?" putting the AAA batteries in backwards, you can't do that with this camera. Very pleased.

    Is Bigger Better?Fujifilm FinePix JV100 12.2 Megapixels

    Fuji fine pix are great units! I have an older 5 Megapix I carry daily in my survey vest. Great unit proven in the field conditions (Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Colorado for three years) and it very dependable. I find the JV100 unit to be small for my hands. It is not an item to drop so I believe it's too compact to use in the field on a daily basis. However, I believe for traveling on vacations and short jumps it is well designed, very powerful and light weight which make very well suited when weight is a consideration.

    Great Value yo! :)

    Bought this camera to replace a cool pix.. cool pix what? The fact is that the automatic scene feature is key. It literally pics out the pic you want to take, regardless of the size, if you're moving.., if there is light.. if adjusts, and out come the photo. Freaking amazing. And for the money.. forget it. I'm what you consider.. a lazy picture taker. You wont' find me taking pictures of myself.. that's for sure..lol So you could imagine how stoked I was to find a camera that did the work for me. Holla! :)

    Fujifilm FinePix JV100 12.2 Megapixel Small and Great.

    This product is good! This was a holiday present for my wife and she loved it. I have a 10 megapixel photo camera bigger and heavier. I still love them that way. But my wife is very happy with the Fujifilm FinePix JV100 because its smaller, lighter but yet compact with lots of operating options and features. Great for traveling and family events. Sinds she got her Fujifilm FinePix JV100 12.2 Megapixel, she never leaves home without it!
