The story is really very well done; the characters can be believed.. The words to the beautiful/entertaining melodies add much to the telling of the story. I can relate the main character to someone seeeking to make the world they touch a better place even though he seems to be lacking full sanity. The main character REFUSES TO ACCEPT the negatives he finds in life and will do his best to correct them per his view, He sees goodness in others in spite of their obvious flaws. . Actually, I watched the play at three different locations, seen the movie many times and decided that he was not insane, but a beautiful dreamer wanting to change the world heI touched daily to be a better, happier place. He is my hero, my example for choosing his way of life. I suggest that people watch the ... The story is really very well done; the characters can be believed.. I use this film for my Spanish II classes. It gives insight to the Inquisition, destitute people, knights, Cervantes and of course Don Quixote. It also gives the students a taste of a musical which many will not see on their own, I have the songs in my mind weeks after I see the movie. I hope to instill in my student to "Dream the impossible dream".

Good film. I didn't know Peter O'Toole could sing or Sophia Loren could act. But they both do fine. The story was actually very good and gives some teachable insights. There are supposed to be gems of wisdom and to that I would agree. I will add this to my collection as it is worthy to show others.
