About this product

Product Information

Konami's card-battling series continues on Sony's handheld with the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 5. Highlighting this installment is the inclusion of 4,500 trading cards from 2010's "Star Strike Blast" set. As with 2009's Tag Force 4, you'll be able to challenge the computer AI in the story mode, which is based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D animated series, or go straight into competition with the "free duel" option. More than 100 characters are featured in the game, and Ad-hoc support is once again available for up to four players to participate in either one-on-one duels or team-based matches. Billed as the "biggest Yu-Gi-Oh! game ever" by Konami, the title offers an estimated 300 hours of gameplay. In addition to winning cards from defeating opponents in the story mode, players can download additional cards (for a fee) via online wireless connection.

  • Not very worth it unless you're just in it for the duels.

I bought this game because I've loved Yu-Gi-Oh! since I was a kid, and I jumped at the opportunity to play a fairly recent game. After booting it up and playing for a few minutes, however, I wasn't quite as happy with this game as I thought I would be. The prologue was over-long, dull, and a little repetitive in some parts which was a real turn-off right off the bat. The gameplay after the prologue can get confusing unless you spent a couple minutes searching for the in-game help function which can only be accessed from the map if you look at the little tip at the bottom right-hand side of the screen that tells you that. The plot for the story mode doesn't really pick up until you talk to people over and over and try to gain 'hearts' with them to increase your friendship level with them, ...

  • good job

If you like the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG or OCG, this is a great game to test out many decks before you spend loads of money on real cards and find out the deck is weak. The only problem here in the US is that we have some TCG exclusive cards and since this game is made in Japan it only has TCG cards that have been released for the OCG up to the release of this game. Cards like XX-Saber Darksoul, making it hard to test out an expensive deck like X-Sabers, even though it's a good tier one deck, maybe you just want to see if you like it. One problem testing out decks is with some of the not so smart moves that the computer AI may use while you duel. Making some duels not 100% purely the best possible. Even buying this game for the cards alone may be well worth purchase price alone. Go out and play the ...

  • Love the taste of the French Revolution

This card set is excellent if you are just a collector, or a huge fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. "Chevalier de Fleur" is awesome with its effect of negating a Spell/Trap per turn. The only drawback is, the effect can only be used during your turn, and only 1 Spell/Trap can be negated. So you need to use this card's effect wisely. "Fleur Synchron" may be a Level 2 monster, but do not underestimate its effects. If this card is Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon, you can summon a Level 2 monster from your hand. This effect goes well into an Ancient Gear Deck, since "Ancient Gear" and "Ancient Gear Cannon" fit into this category. You can pull off some awesome combos with this card's effect. "Liberty At Last!" - What can I say about this card? It was errata'd for the Trading Card Game, but ...
