Keep in mind how much you're paying and you will be happy with your purchase

I wanted pair of 10x42 binoculars to take to on vacations. They needed to be inexpensive so if they got lost, fell off the boat, got sand all up in them, or worse - left in the golf cart, I wasn't out a lot of money. So I decided to go with the Vortex Diamondbacks. They are clear enough for overcast days and they don't weigh a lot either. Vortex binoculars have excellent eye cups which to me, if it doesn't feel good when glassing, you're not going to want to use them. I've tried many (and I mean many) binoculars over the years but none at this price point. I own a pair of high-end Zeiss 8x32 and also a pair of Swarovski's which I took to Africa. But for vacations with the kids, these Vortex Diamondbacks are the answer.

  • Compact, lightweight and great value

My good friend collects binoculars and has the best that money can buy; I think some of them are $1200 or more. And he has these and speaks highly of them so I got some and I'm not disappointed. They're compact and lightweight. The focus is very sensitive, but it's easy to adjust so no problem.

  • Fine binoculars

I've owned 2 good pair of binoculars, Nikon Monarch 5 and the previous version of these Diamondback without ED glass. I must say these Diamondback ED 10x42 binos are several degrees of improvement over either of my older ones. There's nothing wrong with either previous binos, but I can instantly see how much better things look through ED glass. If you want a big step up in clarity and brightness you can't do any better than these, especially for the price! Unqualified BUY recommendation.

  • Can't beat em

Very good pair of binoculars. You get a lot for what you payed for. The warranty is the cherry on top. Vortex will fix anything for free and it only takes a week or two. You don't have to be afraid of using these binoculars. I definitely recommend the Diamondbacks over the crossfire. Imo the Diamondback's offer the best quality/performance per dollar.

  • Best bang for the buck.

These are the best bang for the buck when buying binoculars. I have several other binoculars but wanted a set dedicated to leave in my truck. I am a forester and see a lot of wildlife. No, these are not on par with Swarovski or Leica. But they are as good as Steiner predators or zeiss terra Ed. I am very happy with this purchase and would buy again.
