I truly liked reading of what was going on and truth behind some of the news headlines I so vividly remember, but only knowing or hearing of half the story. Michelle Obama grew up in Chicago and explains in her book the daily life of a little girl, the struggles that are so frequent but the personal details are little known, especially for a little black girl trying to grow up with a sense of purpose, manners, and education that her parents nurtured for her and her brother. As an English teacher, I recommend it for all ages from about fifth grade on up. She provides a sincere account demonstrating how she developed personal ... They have had a great life together, and compared to her Spartan childhood days.......she must feel a bit queenly at this point in her life.
