Great Camera ** If it has been repaired already!!!
We now own 2 of these cameras. They do however have a bit of a defect. The camera was initially constructed with a plastic gear that controls the mirror movement inside the camera. Over time the gear develops cracks and requires the replacement of the mirror motor and gear. The replacement motor has a brass gear and will work forever. It cost me 140 dollars to repair both of my cameras and they have been working 100% ever since. The functionality of this camera is flawless. It is simple enough for anyone to use and when paired with various lenses it will take anything from the most professional shots to just random pictures at a birthday party. Both my wife and I love the camera.We now own 2 of these cameras. They do however have a bit of a defect. Pentax ZX-10 Auto Film Camera
This camera is very light in weight-easy to carry. Autofocus is very fast with the Pentax A-series lenses and the viewfinder is bright. The controls are pretty intuitive so it was not difficult to pick it up and use quickly. I bought the camera because I wanted the lenses that came with it (for the Pentax SF-1 camera body I already have) but the lightness of this ZX-10 makes it easier to grab and uses than the other one.This camera is very light in weight-easy to carry. As soon as I receive this camera ,batteries were inserted,lens was selected, when film was inserted the inner mechanism operate smoothly ,all through the test role the camera work superbly through all the settings manual and automatic. I buy Pentax because it's manual and automatic lenses and accessories are interchangeable in a large majority of their camera models, plus I always like Pentax since my brother brought one back from Japan in the '60s.As soon as I receive this camera ,batteries were inserted,lens was selected, when film was inserted the inner mechanism operate smoothly ,all through the test role the camera work superbly through all the settings manual and automatic. If you need a camera that-
is light to carry, comfortable to hold, easy to use, with plastic internal parts(gears etc.)that are doomed to fail, then this is the camera for you. You'll be able to visit it in the camera hospital during normal business hrs. It seems that when you sacrifice weight, you also sacrifice quality. Nuff said.
