"Big Time" is the priceless 1988 film of American singer/songwriter/actor Tom Waits in concert. Performances from two different live shows are ingeniously spliced, with Waits acting as gonzo pitchman-poet on the fringes of his own bizarre carnival of American oddity. Longtime Waits admirers (of which I am certainly one) usually warn Waits newbies away from this film, citing its weirdness as possibly off-putting until one has presumably undergone some kind of Waitsian boot camp first. Fiddlesticks. Waits IS weird. He's also a by-God genius and a true original. Step right up.
This is a fantastic video that I couldn't find anywhere else(it has not been released on DVD yet). This is an awesome performance by Tom Waits and the band and is as much theatre as it is music. Tom is possessed- a shape-shifter of unfathomable proportions! I am a collector of live performances and have never seen anything like this! Watch this all the way through!
this product its self is an amazing art peice! iv been a waits follower for a while now but have never seen this product on dvd so just saying someone needs to change that! please... well no matter big time is an amazing thing to own so id strongly urge you to grab a hold of this, fry up some turkey guts, sit back and soke it in.
This is a must see movie for anyone who loves the fine arts. A masterpiece of film noir. I would put this movie up there with "A Hard days night"
