About this product

Product Information

Based directly on J.R.R. Tolkein's first novel of Middle-earth, VU Games' The Hobbit puts players in the role of Bilbo Baggins to adventure through the story that later came to serve as the prequel to the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. Bilbo begins his adventure in the quaint community of Hobbiton, where an old wizard friend called Gandalf introduces him to a band of brave but dangerous dwarves. Signing on as the party's designated thief, the agile hobbit will explore Middle-earth countryside and visit such notable locations as Rivendale, Laketown, and finally the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo would be wise to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible, as he journeys there and back again, for an encounter with the terrible dragon Smaug seems inevitable before the story ends.

  • Great Game to Play!

Since the movie hasn't been made, playing the game is a really fun way to relive Bilbo's adventure from the book. I have a pretty vivid imagination, but it's still a lot of fun seeing what other people have come up with as well. The graphics are decent, and it's not all too difficult of a game to play, so it's good for younger kids too, well as long as you can read, there's quite a bit of dialogue.

  • The Hobbit (Game Boy Advance, 2003)

I think J.R.R. Tolken would have been proud of this game. The adventure in the game is as captivating as the original written story. Line by line, level by level, you can't help feeling the fears and excitement of Bilbo Baggins as he meets each challenge. Don't let me tell you how to play, experience it for yourself..
