The Mia adventure series (reading, science, and math) has garnered more than 45 awards since its introduction in 1999. The little mouse and her large group of friends help players in the six to ten age range focus on multiple concepts of mathematics in Mia's Math Adventures: Just in Time!, a two-CD set featuring games, puzzles, animation, and exploration of 3D environments. Cast members Pompon, Romaine, Freddy, Mr. Mole, Pomponless, Scary, Marty, and Betty include rats, mice, squirrels, birds, spiders, moles, and more.<br><br>Each of the many activities focuses on a specific topic as Mia leads adventurers on a quest through her house and garden for items required to solve problems and learn math concepts. Features include storing items like Sparklies (used for fuel and currency) in Mia's backpack as the game progresses, guiding her through areas on her skateboard, an automatic "win" option for younger children, verbal feedback, four difficulty settings, and up to 12 saved game spaces for each of four players.<br><br>Just some of the specific activities include number recognition, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, ascending and descending order, geometry (shapes, solids, symmetry, angles), factoring, telling time (days, hours, minutes), numbers, temperature measurement, estimating, calculating, and fractions. The locales, characters, and activities revolve around a storyline in which Mia is trying to use Sam Squirrel's time machine to undo the tragedy of having her house burn down.
