About this product

Product Information

We all want our children to succeed. What happens when they do? Britney Spears wanted to sing ever since she was a little girl. But the years of sacrifices, auditions, performances, albums, fame, and paparazzi left the little Louisiana family swept up and spun around, and nothing turned out the way anyone ever imagined or wanted. Now Lynne shares the inside story of the Spears family as only a mother can. "Through the Storm" takes readers outside the narrow orbit of the Hollywood glitterati. Lynne shares how fame forever changed their family; her regrets letting managers, agents, and record companies direct the lives of her children; the challenges that shaped Lynne and Jamie's failed marriage and how they affected Bryan, Britney, and Jamie Lynn; the startling events that led to Britney's breakdown; the aftermath of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy; and how the family has tried pulling together to recapture a sense of hope and purpose. "Through the Storm," says Lynne, is "the story of one simple Southern woman whose family got caught in a tornado called fame, and who is still trying to sort through the debris scattered all over her life in the aftermath. It's who I am, warts and all, with some true confessions that took a long time to get up the nerve to discuss."

  • Britney's NOT crazy, ok?!

If you want to know why Britney Spears was acting crazy last year, then this is a must read! Britney's mother, Lynn, doesn't hold back when discussing her famous daughters (she also discusses the teen pregnancy of her other daughter, Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn Spears). The agony she felt as Britney went through the pits of hell with her nightmare of a "manager" Sam Lufti, radiates off the pages. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. As Lynn will tell you, even the most famous celebrities can be victimized. Thank goodness Britney is free, and back bigger than ever!

  • Through the storm Lynne Spears

This is actually a really great book. It is not a "tell all" book, but does give you some insight into the Spears' life and events we all know have happened. It is from a mothers view. When you read it, it's clear this is one mother that loves her family very much, has made many sacrafices as a family, and despite what we read in the tabloids, or see on celebrity TV, I get the feeling they really love eachother. What I gathered from the book is they really are a close-knit family that have met some "wolves" in their travels. Could she have made some decisions differently, sure thing....but isn't that tru for all of is. Should have, would have, could have. I feel they are just like me, (and you)! It made me think that I could totaly be friends with these people, brit, jamie, or their ...

  • wonderful book

I decided to buy this book after I had read it from my local library. What made me read it in the first place is because I'm a huge Britney Spears fan and once I read the book I'm now a big Lynne Spears fan. I found out Lynne and I have a few things in common and the best thing of all was this book was such a good, smooth reading book. I love how she explains things to make you better understand and really feel what she had to go through. The book is a fast reader. Lynne should hold her head up high and never doubt herself as a mother. From my view I think she was a great southern momma. Read the book u won't be disappointed.

  • Through The Storm By Lynne Spears (2008)

This was an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G book. It was great insight to how things all started up through the point of Jamie Lynn having her baby. It touched a little on all the major subjects but was by far not a tell all book. I loved hearing the truths behind Britney's break down. Lynne made sure to fill us in on why things happened the way they did. The book did jump back and forth a bit as far as time. It was not a bad idea, but you had to pay attention at some points or you could get confused easily. I highly suggest to all Britney and Jamie Lynn fans to read this book.

  • Story about fame and wealth.

All about the Spears family and their coming up in the entertainment world.
