  • History of Africa by Kevin Shillington (2005)

This is a very wallet friendly textbook. Only 30 dollars new, and used even less. The book is fairly light for a thick textbook. Has a lot of great pictures even though they are black and white. But I'm willing to sacrifice color for less weight. Nice large print, not tiny like some textbooks. The context itself is great, even though sometimes it makes it seem as if the white people are the cause of all problems. But still an excellent read. Please rate!
