I went on a 2 -1/2 day trip last week and used it to get out past the other guys and hooked up a smaller Yellowtail (16lbs), a couple of 15~20 lb Bonitas, and various rock fish on lures.     Bigger is better. More line capacity allows you to the fish with lighter line weights and get more bites.

    It was a gift for my daughter's boyfriend. Since I am writing this review long after he received it, he has told me how much he enjoys using it. It operates as well as he could have expected.     Pricey but you get what you pay for it's a awesome reel.

    This reel is smooth and a fast retrieve. No birds nest yet. A little awkward feeling not putting your thumb on the spool to control backlash I have already started reducing the centrical break and getting a little more distance each time I take it out.
