The Hewlett-Packard 516294-001 has a number of features that allow this socket 478 motherboard to form a solid basis for a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. As such, this Hewlett-Packard motherboard integrates some functions to maintain a smaller form than a traditional motherboard. The most notable manifestation of this design philosophy is in the incorporation of an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 chipset to provide quality integrated graphics quality to the user, as well an HDMI port for connecting with high-definition displays. Furthermore, this Hewlett-Packard motherboard possesses an ExpressCard slot for expansions and universal compatibility. Other connections supported by this socket 478 motherboard include a USB port, 4-in-1 card reader, and a FireWire port. These each provide access to different media types, addressing a broad range of functions. The ExpressCard slot works in conjunction with the single modifiable mini-PCI slot available on the Hewlett-Packard 516294-001 for customization. Wired network connectivity is available through a standard Ethernet jack built into this Hewlett-Packard motherboard as well.
