    Buy it. Good investment. Easy reading.

    This book was referred to me by one of my Professors in a Journalism program. I was so used to pulling BS easily in the past, but they were able to call me out on all of my attempts to pad my essays. I asked them for more advice on how to be successful in the academic program as well as on the field. That is when I was made aware of this book: On Writing Well by William Zinsser. It is perfect for learning how to not just use the inverted triangle as a Writer, but also to remember that everyone is a reader and when we read items, we usually hope that the author gets straight to the point. It is very much about the simple ways to communicate effectively. I would re-recommend this book to anyone who struggles with writing or someone who is so used to the 5-paragraph expository essay that she ...

    New writers, take it with a grain of salt

    "On Writing Well" is directed toward men and women who have been writing things for other people for so long that they have lost their "soul," their identity, their voice. It tells readers to write for yourself and not be concerned about what others will think. I got this book for a college writing class and my professor warns us to take the book's advice with a grain of salt, because as college students and as people newly entering the work force, we DO need to be thinking, a lot, about what our readers want. But aside from taking that into consideration, this book is really good. It addresses how we should take out unnecessary stuff in our papers to make our writing more concise and to the point.     Very important writers tool here

    If you want your written work to be read and enjoyed, here is the recipe book that you should use as a guide and helper. Expertly written and easily understandable, there are plenty of good examples here regarding style and method. If more writers and would be writers used this book as a guide, they would be attracting and holding more readers. The author has decades of experience as a writer and a teacher and it shows. Don't leave home without it!

    A classic text is learning and re-learning to write non-fiction properly.

    On Writing Well is the gold standard of books if you want to learn how to write non-fiction properly. Written in a fashion that allows the reader to read chapters independent of each other On Writing Well addresses problems all writers have. Offers solutions that are clear, concise and will not be found anywhere else. If you love to read and/or write then On Writing Well is worthy of a purchase to keep and refer to for years to come.

    It's Not Just About Writing

    After three pages, I was hooked. This book was referenced to me by a pastor friend who said it changed his preaching. I didn't quite understand how a writing book could change a person's preaching, but I purchased it anyway. "On Writing Well" is fantastic for improving your writing no matter what you are doing. Whether you are writing emails, company memos, or a personal memoir, if you follow the simple guidelines he provides, your writing WILL improve. Best part is, he will not only tell you how to improve your writing, but you will see a living example in how he writes. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve the quality of their writing as well as improving their thought process when it comes to organizing information.
