    Granddaughter loves it!

    I'm writing this review for my granddaughter, who by all accounts, loves this book. Because it's a board book she can also "read" it on her own. She got Gruffalo pyjamas while visiting in the UK, so she now knows more about him.

    Mixed Message

    My wife took our 3 year old Granddaughter to Dollywood a few weeks ago. The Gruffalo play was showing there, so they went to see it. My wife asked me to order the book since they ran out of books at the theater. I took our Granddaughter back to Dollywood last week and took her to see the Gruffalo play again. I should have read the book first. The "moral" of the story as I see it is that it is OK to LIE to get out of a jam. Make up any story to save your hide (escape consequences). While my 3 year old hopefully doesn't go any deeper than the cute story and the scary Gruffalo, I think older kids...5-6-7...definitely will get the wrong message. This is not a "life lesson" story I'd recommend.
