About this product

Product Information

Curse of the Old Gypsy Man… Billy Halleck, good husband, loving father, is both beneficiary and victim of the American Good Life: he has an expensive home, a nice family, and a rewarding career as a lawyer. But he is also fifty pounds overweight and, as his doctor keeps reminding him, heading into heart attack country. Then, in a moment of carelessness, Billy sideswipes an old gypsy woman as she is crossing the street-and her ancient father passes a bizarre and terrible judgment on him. "Thinner," the old gypsy man whispers, and caresses his cheeks like a lover. Just one word…but six weeks later and ninety-three pounds lighter, Billy Halleck is more than worried. He's terrified. And desperate enough for one last gamble…that will lead him to a nightmare showdown with the forces of evil melting his flesh away.

  • STEPHEN KING / THINNER (WOW)

I read this book shortly after it was published, as any real Stephen King fan would. This book, like all King works is a masterpiece of the macabre. I bought this copy because I had sort of let all my books slip away and decided it was time to own the whole collection of King books. I don't plan to be wordy so I will sum it up this way. If you don't like to read, don't buy this book. If you do like to read but don't like horror, don't buy this book. If you are open to horror reading (Koontz, Cook, Barker, etc.) but have never read King, climb on board. Stephen King's writing style just draws me in and holds me. I don't just read King's books I live them. Living within "Thinner" thrilled me. Buy this book if you fit the above criteria and have not read it. Thank you for listening.

  • Old books are good friends

It's a book I tried before and wanted to read it again the price was right and now I can pass it on to friends

  • A Real Classic Never Dies

Classic King, a well known book but proves itself by staying re-readable and enjoyable over the decades.

  • Thinner

Stephen King is in my opinion the second greatest author in the world ( No 1 is Dean Koontz ), I have read most of his books and will one day manage to read them all. I wont tell you about the book because if you are like me, You like to find out things as they happen in the book, But I will say that I loved this book and Highly Recomend it.

  • my new favorite book
