Surviving the Game can be deadly

The best way to describe Surviving the Game is to relate it to The Most Dangerous Game. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, basically it is about hunting humans. In this movie, we meet Ice-T (of L&O SVU), a homeless man looking to find a job to keep him going. He meets Charles S Dutton who offers him an opportunity that will change his life. Little does Ice-T know that it could kill him. Others in the "game" are Gary Busey, in his usually over-the-top acting role F. Murray Abraham, and John C. McGinley being the most notable. The movie is tense and the actors do a great job. I highly recommend this movie for your entertainment, even though you aren't part of the hunt!

    • Intense action. Big names.

This film looks at the human tendency to be led into violent actions that the average person would not act out singley. Add a couple of psycopathes, to a group of followers and a reasonable assurance of secrecy and you see the phenomenon unfold. Well written, fairly well acted. I enjoyed it more for the thought provocation than the entertainment value.

    • SURVIVING THE GAME

Bought this one for my wife, who saw it several years ago in Greece. Really liked the story line, the fast pace, continual action, and the creativity that Ice-T presented. The psychological twists in the film were well presented, suggesting that the entire group of "hunters" were extremely unbalanced. This film also indicates the skills/abilities a total novice can quickly acquire regarding survival, when his life depends on it. It strongly illustrates the fact that when one's life is on the line, one does whatever possible to survive.

    • Superbly Intense

Ice-T was an excellent choice as the intended "victim", with Rutger Hauer & Gary Busey being their usual bad-boy selves. Not accustomed to seeing John McGinley as a bad guy, but his acting was believable. Charles Dutton was about who you'd expect, with F. Murray Abraham & William McNamara following the herd.
