Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Personal MiniDisc Recorders
I use mine to listen to audio books where the small speaker some times comes in useful. It is pretty limited in volume and not fit for music I think. The screen is nice and clear unlike many Sony model, similar to the Sharp ones I have. For audiobooks or other spoken recordings there are 2 sound choices that boost spoken word clarity ( as you might expect from a machine that is aimed as a dictophone ) The battery life seems to be very high as you would expect from using 2 AA batteries where most portables that use them only have one. Recording is done by one touch pressing the large record button firmly, I find this useful for recording phone calls from my hands free phone using the internal mic. Fortunately the menu system is easy to use as many of the main choices have their own buttons rather than a menu option eg mode of recording / erase track/erase disk. re buying one of these - look for a record button ( the big one bottom middle ) that dont have its silver paint worn off, probably means the device hasnt spent a lot of its time recording with possible wear and tear on the record head ( this DOES touch the top of a mindisc when recording)Read full review

I wanted a new Mini DIsc recorder, I have an old one in a radio,CD, cassette player. I have a large collection of 78's, LP's and CD's etc. I also want it for work on my book.(Research.) I have now bought three "desktop" recorders but wanted a mobile one. This Sony is absolutely fantastic, it does everything one could want, the quality of the sound it excellent. I notice that when they appear on EBay they always sell for over £100. I actually paid £130 as I was determind to buy it. It is so easy to use. I would say the only downside for me is the size of the screen, but it is better than other mobile players I have tried.(and sold on) I will probably look for a second one.
This minidisc player beats others because it does not make a virtue out of miniaturisation. The controls are very simple and quite big - no fiddling about or blindly fumbling because you can't find your reading glasses! Also uses AA batteries, so great if you don't happen to be anywhere where you can plug in a charger. Retro technology is often the best.
Best Minidisc player recorder for its size on the market in my opinion. Compact and very easy to use.
