    THIS ADAPTER DOES NOT WORK

    This is a critic of m42 to nex adapter. I have sony ar11 cameras and sony fs700 Tried out with 200mm m42 thread lens also 90mm m42. 50mm m42. They fit mechanically BUT None of these will focus. Reason being the distance frome back element on these lens is too close to the focal plane that being the camera sensor. Id be interested to know what focal length lens does work? But beware those dont. I already have another adapter which is about 4cm thicker and this works very well. This costs more money. But it does 100%works. These thin ones dont.

    Do Not Line Up Correctly With Camera.

    I bought three of these, as there was a discount for multiple items. I had three M42 lenses that needed adapters. Easy to screw onto the lens rear and accept a Sony/Minolta rear lens cap. There is a clear red dot to line up with the camera mount. Knurled edge makes it easy to tighten or loosen. The matt black finish on the alloy means they blend in with the lens very nicely. Unfortunately when the lens is mounted to the camera, it is orientated about 90 degrees too far to the right (clockwise). This means that the aperture markings are not visible from the top view, making it awkward to know what aperture has been set. It seems the QC was not very good when they made the ones from the batch I got. Maybe it has been fixed, but not going to buy again on the off chance.

    Does exactly what it is supposed to.

    Well made, fit is good both to lens and camera mount. No problem with infinity focusing. You need to ensure "shutter lock" is set to OFF and use full manual control on the camera.
