Loctite Rear Window Defogger Tab Adhesive
Effective repair. Had to wait for 50* or higher temps, as mandated in the directions. Because of the cold temps here in the Northeast, waiting the recommended 5 min. between applying the resin and hardener is too long. I had to re-apply both in a shorter span to get it to stick.

Tab Repair - NOT!
On a cold morning I turned on my rear defroster and expected to see the cozy lines begin to melt the ice on my rear window, but instead got... nothing. Frustrated, I began googling thinking the switch went bad, a wire broke, etc. I never thought the tab falling off would be the problem. I bought this Permatex kit hopefully as the solution. I saw online it either gets 1 star reviews and doesn’t work, or 5 stars and it does. The directions clearly state that it must be 50 degrees or higher to complete the install. Being winter outside, I turned up the heat in the car and put a thermometer next to the rear window. I got the interior of the car up to 90 degrees and then used a heat gun on the exterior of the glass. I used some sandpaper on the clip to get rid of the old solder and ... I followed the directions and completed the repair. I had to move the clip slightly to a non damaged part of the heat grid. Knock on wood, after waiting the 24 hours for the adhesive to dry, I hit the switch and it worked! Fast forward to a week later and it stopped working again. The tab is so securely mounted to the glass I am unable to remove it, however the solder / adhesive just stopped conducting electricity. I’m not sure why it would do that a week later after working just fine but this ended up just being a waste of time.

Did not work for me!
Installed as per the instructions. Mix was correct, ambient temperature was correct. electrical tab is affixed and secured to the window, but when I attach the defroster wire, no electrical current. too much resistance. I do not recommend this product.

Did not work
Followed instructions carefully and applied adhesive to a new tab in 70 degree weather. Held in place for 3 minutes and then taped it down for extra holding while glue set up and dried. After 36 hours, went to attach the wire to the clip, and the clip fell off. The adhesive doesn’t work.
