      Quick tablet charging port fix

My tablet had a broken charging port, so I ordered these micro USB boards to replace it. I only needed one, but the second one I, will keep as a spare. You simply solder them into where the battery connects to the motherboard. Then make a hole somewhere on the side to allow you to close the tablet back up, but still access the charging port. Although the tablet can no longer see that the battery is being charged (the software does not recognize the new port), there is an LED on the charging board which is red when charging and blue when the battery is fully charged, so you just plug it in and wait for the LED to turn blue. The LED is plainly visible when the tablet is put back together.

    • Inexpensive reliable charging board

I am using these charging boards to build rechargeable flashlights with 18650 cells. These boards are small enough to fit inside, and reliably charge the battery. To see the charge status I modified one of these boards for external LED's, a little tricky to solder, but the existing resistors will provide 5ma. The "+" & "-" pads make it easy to use a separate USB jack or other 5v source. Inexpensive.

    • Cool little PCB

This thing is great for small electronics projects. I'm using it with a single battery that goes in to a voltage booster to supply 7V to an Arduino. Then I just grab a micro USB charger from an old phone to charge that. So far, so good!

    • Inexpensive and very useful

Great little charger for the money. I built these in to some radios and broken charge bases very easily and added clear light pipes to get the indicators to where I needed them. I've bought 4 so far and will probably buy more.

    • Perfect combination of value and cost

I needed battery protection, charging and discharge protection for a bunch of LiPo cells I'd reclaimed from a failed laptop battery, and these are the ticket! Inexpensive, and they work exactly as I need. I will be buying more. My primary usage was to retro-fit a 2400mAh LiPo battery into a metal detector NiCd battery pack. The NiCd charger is 5vdc, which is perfect. So I gutted the battery pack, wired everything up, and it's working like a champ!
