  • This is it. This is the end of your non-stopping audiophile buying journey

(Pass this review if you have a 2k+ budget on IEMs, you have better choices. For those 1k$ is the maximum budget for IEMs, this will be the last time you spend money on IEMs) People say different things about 846. Of course, you can get better custom IEMs at WAY HIGHER PRICE. Of course, There are plenty of Over-ear Headphones that can beat 846 at this price, but 846, as an on-stage IEM, worth every penny and is perfectly made. I have owned K3003i, IE800, SE535 in the past few years. The only one survived is the 535. They all suffered from overtime cable failure, only 535 can change the cable entirely, it has been accidentally thrown in washer, dryer, but it never broke. As an upgrade from 535, 846 is the one that can save you from spending more money on IEMs in terms of overall sound quality, it is the one that you can trust on its build quality and flawless design. No one regrets buying 846, and you won't be the first one ; )

  • Shure 846 Actualización

I have several headphones: Beyer DT 990, Beyer T90 Tesla, AKG and Sennheiser. I also have the Shure 535. All are fantastic, but the 846 is the summit of technology and good sound. Each instrument is heard with amazing clarity. I do not think I will buy other branded headphones. I think I found the perfection I was looking for. I'm not an audiophile but I find happiness in every new instrument that good headphones allow me to listen to. And the 846 have made me very happy. They are complete, they have accessories that no auricul gives. Awesome !! Warning: I took 1 week learning to place them perfectly in my ears, but it's worth the effort. When they fit, they do it milimetrically to give a sound more than perfect. If you do not put them perfectly, you do not enjoy them. You put them well, you fall in love with their sound.I have an Onkyo DP-X1A player and the 846 sounds beautiful when I connect it to the Onkyo. And on my Mac it sounds great. I would like to have engineering skills to do a review with the technical details that the 846 deserves. I'm convinced that I bought the best headset I've ever had in my life. If you have the money to invest in these 846, I would recommend it. I use it with pair of Yellow Foam Sleeves and it sounds much better although at first it is uncomfortable, I got used to it in a few hours.

  • Shure SE846

The high price tag is justifiable although I got mine at a bargain price. Some times you have to take a renowned name like Shure at it's pedigree and spend a lot to get a product of this quality and versatility. As with all high end audio you get what you pay for and you get exactly what you put through it. Quality recordings will sound phenomenal and inferior productions will sound pretty bad. But that's the way it should be. Sometimes I edit the bad stuff with software to add what is missing in the bandwidth and the the signal level and it improves the overall very well so I can enjoy it all and have uniform quality. These earbuds may not be for all but they fit and sound great for me. The quality and sound are worth the money but the physical aspects may not work for some people. They come with a great assortment of ear pieces and host of extras that competitors don't supply. Overall an excellent product for the discerning professional.

  • Awesome if you can deal with the price

Very expensive but it sounds like I have two 12"s thumping in my ear canals. Overall sound is clear and range is wider than any other Shure product shy of their premium cans for studio work.

  • Yes you can

I love music. I did not buy them because i was a professional guitarist or a vocalist. I bought them because i wanted great headphones. And that is what i got. I wont go into details but i can tell you this. Yes you can run with these. Yes you can sweat with these. Yes you can workout heavy and not have them fall out of your ear if you use the correct earpieces. Sweat does not go down the canals. The quality overall is wonderful. I have had several name brands but nothing compares to these. I started out with the 425's and thought they were pretty good until i got the Se846-cl's...Night and day. So if you love running, walking and any other activity, Dont be afraid, you wont get sweat in them and they wont fall out of your ear and you wont be dissapointed.

  • AMAZING HEADPHONES!

This is the first product review I have ever written for anything I've bought on EBay...these headphones just require praise. So my setup is the blue (balance filters) with new foam tips which does the trick for me. FYI The sound is so "crispy" sounding, and the bass deep and rich reverberating perfectly into your ears. This product definitely lives up to its description and video reviews on YouTube. I'm not a musician and use them for personal music listening, and I think they are worth every penny. True acoustic masterpiece, I'm truly glad I decided to buy this product. I just keep wondering, can headphones possibly get better than this? Well we just have to wait to find out... PM for any details about the product I'll be more than happy to share my experience!

  • Excellent but may not be for everyone

Very good overall sound quality with good bass and excellent midrange. Could use a little more sparkle on top. A bit pricey but good sound doesn't come cheap. Sound is obviously better than SE535 which is what I use while traveling. My personal preference is the Sennheiser IE800 for it's well balanced and neutral sound quality. The SE846 is a close second.

  • Audiophile In-Ear Monitors

Shure has hit a homerun with the SE846. They are the best noise isolating, high quality in-ear monitors I have used. They do not add any coloration to the music in my opinion, but remove layers of compression and grunge that lesser in-ear monitors don't. The bass is solid when there on the recording and the midrange and highs are crystal clear. Voices have directness and realism to them that seem to place the performers right there with you. Image location and solidity are rock solid, but don't stand out as to take away from the "wholeness" and musical flow of the performance. I guess what impresses me most is the musicality of the Shure SE846: they don't exaggerate one area of the spectrum. Everything is as it should be, as it was during the original recording. To me, the SE846's just disappear and let the music through as it was recorded. They are not going to gloss over a bad performance or recording, but they aren't going to add anything that should not be there to a great performance or recording as well. Another thing about the SE846's is that they are very efficient so watch the volume when you first connect them to your headphone amplifier. Highly recommended and they are easy on the eyes too. I have the clear housings and I love the ability to see all of the components inside that make up these terrific in-ear monitors. Another plus is that you can tailor the sound to match the characteristics of your system. My headphone amp is a little on the bright side and I was able to change out the plug to warm the sound up without changing the characteristic sound of the music.

  • Great product.

I think the SE 846's are excellent. I got them used for 400$. The filters are what make them great. I have treble loss in my hearing. I put the white filters in and could better upper frequencies boosted.

  • Shure SE846

Upgraded from a 535. The audio difference depends on the genre of music, amplification source, & music source. Worth it? Yes, if you want to have the very best Shure has to offer. I’ve had the opportunity to try the 215, 315, & 425 too. Save up and go big! Can’t go wrong with these.
