great for multithreaded apps
The E5-2696 V3 is the same as the flagship E5-2699 V3 but was sold to OEM builders. Same product with a lower price. This 18 core CPU runs in an all core turbo mode of 2.8 Ghz. This is much better than the specified 2.3Ghz. At that speed it is a decent performer in single threaded apps but it really is best for heavily multithreaded apps like 3D rendering. Using 2 of these achieves a cinebench score of 4281 and a single core score of 150.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
