Icom IC-2 and IC-2AT is the kind of ham radio Jesus would use.
The Icom IC-2 and IC-2AT are perfect amateur radios if you're a luddite and don't use repeaters that need a tone (CTCSS or DPL) tone to activate. I cannot stand the computer radios, and absolutely despise the cheapo china radios with the horrible front ends on the receivers. The Icom IC-2AT has an excellent front end and does not get hit with intermod. Especially helpful when working at hilltop radio tower sites like I do. I don't use repeaters, so the IC-2AT is perfect for me. There's a lot of simplex traffic in my area, and the repeaters are just filled with noobs and egomaniac narcissists.
