    SONY a5000 So Nice...

    I really didn't need a camera, but I saw a small camera while watching a movie on HBO. So as any consumer would do, I searched small digital cameras on eBay. What I found, there are many choices. I looked at the Sony a5000 mostly because it has interchangeable lenses, appeared to be small, had numerous features that I would use, and so I went ahead and purchased it. I am very happy with my SONY a5000. They have newer models of the same type of camera, i.e. a6000, and more. For the price and super quality in any photo situation, I couldn't be happier!

    Good value for a beginner

    I am new to photography and I was hoping to improve the pictures I was taking with my phone. In auto, it's simple to use, and takes good pictures. I haven't gotten too fancy with it yet. I will use it this summer for vacations and taking good pictures of the kids. It's very lightweight, the viewfinder isn't the best, but that's ok. It does flip up so you can do selfies , if you so desire. I haven't tried video, but heard it is very good as well. Overall, as a beginner into the world of photography, this is a nice, affordable start.

    Excellent but...

    Excellent camera, very small and with a flip screen, but if you are a resolution or pixel peeper, the Sony A3000 has slightly better image quality. To it's credit, the A5000 has slightly better color and contrast and is closer to the Nex-7 in this respect. Nevertheless, the Sony makes excellent mirror-less cameras.

    Big pictures from a Small camera

    Very small camera with big camera capacity. Works well for all settings, recommend extra battery with purchase and silicone protective case. Small camera can be like an expensive cell phone, you have a case on that , right?
