Grab the free capsules from the capsule machine and make your way to victory."Mario Party 5," developed by Hudson Soft, features a total of 80 mini-games. Anyone who has played previous editions of the Party series will be familiar with the formula of rolling dice to travel around a board and win coins and stars. Players acquire coins by landing on spaces and winning mini-games, and buying a star costs 20 coins. The winner of a round is the person with the most stars. In-game happenings can shake up the standings for Mario and his crew at any time.The Mario Party games have always been fun for the whole family because they provide an engaging yet level playing field. Each mini-game gives all the players the opportunity to win. The random nature of the board movement also contributes to the democratic nature of the outcome. Spaces like Bowser and Donkey Kong can mix up a round in its final turns. Playable characters in the game range from the familiar Mario and Luigi to Toad, Wario, and Koopa. Mario Party 5 has a story mode where you fight Koopa enemies on a series of boards followed by a competition with Bowser, but the main draw is the multiplayer mode. The characters differ only in appearance, so everyone has a chance to win. The AI can fill in and control any unfilled spots on the player list for each game so there's always a full group playing. This Party game hits all the same high notes that previous entries in the series have by maintaining that same sense of accessible and friendly fun. It also takes full advantage of the Nintendo GameCube to add 3D backgrounds for the first time in the series. You can also insert this GameCube disk into your Nintendo Wii and Wii U to enjoy the same fun on a different system. The GameCube console itself works with TV resolutions of 480p or less.The Mario Party games are a long-standing Nintendo centerpiece because each one adds some extra features.     Good for price but disc scratched to hell

    Honestly a good price for this game. However the disc itself is scratched so bad. As long as it works I’m fine but this quality of the disc really is unexplainable.....

    Fun!

    I have only had experience with Mario Party on the N64 before I purchased this game, and I have to say that I am excited to check out the rest of the levels. I have played through all the levels on the N64 version and I needed something new. I played Mario Party 5 last night and had a lot of fun. It's very nostalgic for me and now the mini games seem a little more difficult and there are more maps. I look forward to playing this game a lot more!
