This replacement is better than the original
Our Samsung RF263BEAESP/AA refrigerator came with a DA97-12317A ice maker which was defective from the beginning. It would make loud popping noises frequently and freeze up periodically. Samsung customer service would not do anything about the problem saying it was normal. After many defrostings with a heat gun the icemaker eventually warped from the heat and stopped working. It works, I have ice again, but the description said New Part? It was obviously used, it was scratched up on the outside but it works. I don't know if it was a good value because it was not new. Problem continues with icing that causes ice maker production stop until thawed

Poor ice maker
We needed this part for the ice maker. This fridge is less than 2 years old when it quit making ice, Samsung did not want to even talk to me about it so I was forced to replace what I think is a poor excuse for an ice maker in the first place.
