I purchased this HDD after quite a bit of researching for a HDD that would work in my Toshiba laptop. This one works. Interestingly enough, I was expecting a "new" HDD with nothing on it. This drive was actually already loaded with a full installation for a DELL laptop. Since mine is not a DELL, I wiped the drive clean, and loaded my "LEGAL" software onto my laptop. Also, the Serial Number that was "hand written" on the invoice paper did not match the actual serial number on the HDD. The HDD is as described in the title, and seems to be functioning fine, so no complaints on it. Just some odd items of interest for anyone else out there looking for a 5400 RPM HDD with preinstalled software...Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Something wrong with it. Not what I expected!
This HDD had a piece of tape on the label side. Much like the HDD had some kind of home-written note taped to it. I been having problems with it ever since I got it. I use Windows and Linux-based Lubuntu. Both OS's would NOT keep a wireless connection, even with the updated driver's installed, including the flashed BIOS for those OS's. I finally gave up and switched back to the 80gb Western Digital Blue and now I have stable and secure wifi connection. Something is wrong with this HDD. Planning to attach it via USB and run forensics virus/malware software on it. This HDD costed me a total of about $60. No OS in hard drive
I installed the new hard drive and my laptop immediately said ‘no boot device’. I double checked the connection and it was installed properly so that wasnt the issue. The hard drive did not have an operating system loaded into it. So now I have to either get access to a computer to load an OS onto a memory stick OR bring it to a computer store.
