Stimulating read!
If I didn't know Kretschmer wrote it, it would have been obvious since his style is so recognizable! This book follows his other books in that is compelling to read and tailor made for coastal sailors like myself who dream about crossing oceans. The operative word is "serious" in that he gives detailed accounts and recommendations of what to do to survive storms at sea. He pulls no punches...if a mistake was made his or someone else's, he writes about it. That is his style...entertaining, informative but exposing his mistakes, doubts and anxiety as well as successes.
