These are the best for cleaning the air .I now own 4 with only two actually working right ,need to be able to get replacement parts though. I won’t never use any other machine after using The Venta . this newer version works fine but seems more cheaply built. I do not like the switch being lit up either because I like a darkened room to sleep in. Lastly, the advertising on the website says it has a 10 year warranty when it has been dropped to just 2 years. Hope it lasts as long as the previous version (15 years). Excellent for musicians
On the lowest setting it is extremely quiet, but louder on the other two settings. It does a better overall job than steam - keeps the humidity level even throughout the apartment. As a musician I need to control the humidity. Forced air heat can dry a guitar out and in time can turn a rich, full-sounding instrument and make it sound thin and reedy - a situation that cant' be reversed. My apartment is 800 square feet, so I use two of these units. During the winters where I am at present (DFW area) I need to add water once every two days. When I was in west Texas I would have to do it every day during the winter and every day and a half in the summer. In DFW I only need to run the units from November through April, after which I clean them and store them. The units need to be cleaned occasionally to get rid of mineral deposits. Venta sells water cleaner for this purpose. Put in some warm water, add the cleaning solution and let it run for a couple of hours. Note that you will need to have a humidity reader. I have a small, battery powered one that lives on a bookshelf. (I haven't had to change the batteries in several years.) I don't have any advice for non-musicians, but for those who are, this is way better than having to mess with the huge hassle of humidifiers inside cases. The Ventas are expensive but after three years without a hitch the price amortizes down plus you don't lose the tone - or the investment - in your instruments.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

K.I.S.S....! A simple product that works well
This is the second Venta unit we have purchased. It is easy to maintain and keep operational. A very simple concept that does what its supposed to do with minimal maintenance. Easy to keep clean and sanitary. We notice a definite improvement in cleaning the air while adding moisture to the air in our high altitude desert home. It is very quite. I find if I leave it on 24 hours a day in my living room during a Chicago winter it helps provide humidity for my piano. When it gets really cold I supplement with another more noisy humidifier. Good quality. Returned another brand to home depot and threw out a third brand. Venta meets my requirements
Very very quiet. Humidity went from twenty to thirty six percent. I am sleeping more. However the manual mentioned it would be a few days before the humidity would rise. Once it stabilized I lowered the setting from 2 to 1. This is my second Venta Humidifier (I have the LW 15 in my bedroom) and now have the LW45 in my living room.
