Supposedly, Loctite Red should completely bond your threads, and can only be broken by heat. Alas, like the proverbial chastity belt, not always true. I am using it on a medium large allen for a eBike crank arm. Even with copious Loctite, and using a "helper" bar to really crank on the bolt, it continues to come loose. Save your money
Tested it 3 times on new stanless steel bolts (cleaned with paint thinner) before I used it on my security bar job. I let it cure 24 hours and then several days on test specimens. It did not hold any better than paint. I ended up not using it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Don't think - Buy it!
If you're working on an engine, replacing old bolts especially, a pro's mark of excellence is to thread lock on a reinstall. You're gonna save yourself a whole lot of pain from a poorly treated bolt or worse, you get one that breaks off in an impossible spot. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE THAT GUY! If you're using new bolts, using this product will actually increase the lifespan of the bolt I suspect. Look, anyone can cut corners, but it's your hard earned fiat money. Always remember, you get what you pay for. Don't be sloppy, do it right the first time and always pay attention to detail. It really is a decent product that does work.
