Irwin Allen's worst disaster film
On the plus side, you can watch this with the entire family. Absolutely no sex, no crude language, no gore. But most adults will find it slow-moving and not very scary. The characters are trapped in an underground cave, but it's open to the public and they have a ranger to lead them, so having to walk out by an alternate route when the main entrance caves in should be inconvenient, but not dangerous. Well, it SHOULD...and the ranger says there are several possible exit routes. So, considering that one member of his party is 72-year-old Ray Milland, why does he choose a route that involves a rope bridge with most of the planks missing? In another scene, Irwin Allen rips off his own POSEIDON ADVENTURE by forcing a once-gorgeous 1940s movie star, who is now elderly and overweight, to swim underwater. Poor Ray Milland! The 1970s hair and clothing looks outdated, and Leslie Nielson's performance is especially wooden. Oddest of all, one of the characters has a flashback --- to a conversation for which she was not even present. Despite everything, the movie is mildly entertaining in a so-bad-it's-funny way.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
