    You Really Need the Audyssey Calibration Mic with Onkyo, Denon and other AVRs

    For anyone who owns an Onkyo AVR receiver, the Audyssey room calibration capability is a feature you really want to use - it makes a dramatic difference in how the system sounds (vs. not using Audessey calibration). To use this capability, you have to have a AUDYSSEY ACM1HB OMNIDIRECTIONAL CALIBRATION MICROPHONE that comes with the system. I recently bought a used Onkyo AVR that didn't have the calibration mic with it, so went back and ordered the mike through eBay. Very happy with performance of the mic, and the AVR once I calibrated it.

    Necessary for Audyssey Calibration

    It's the required calibration microphone for Audyssey-equipped AVRs. This one is compatible with my AVR-X2700H. It worked just as expected. Plenty of cable length, fits standard tri-pod mounting bolt.

    Works like a champ

    If you need to setup a precise listening environment without spending thousands, I highly recommend you get a sound calibration microphone. This particular one works on my Marantz system. NOT all microphones will work on every system, no matter what people may say.
