    Disappointed. My cost was US$73 + duty $13. Lens arrived with obvious fungus though described as fungus free. I contacted seller who apologized for the mistake and refunded US$ 20 but it cost me another $20 for a UV light to kill fungus hoping camera and other lenses not contaminated. I believe it was an honest mistake but I’m out $86 net with a lens unfit for its intended purpose

    Good ballance of the most used features for a flash.

    It has a good balnce of the most needed features. FP (high speed shutter sync) wireless capability built in when used with command mode on the camera. I have used it with the Nikon D200 and D300. The head can go bacwards for bonce flash from behind when camera mounted. It has focus assist lighting, multi strobe feature, standby mode to save power, and auto zoom for the beam width. It is also fairly compact.

    It's okay, but the slowish refresh limits its uses.

    This flash is an old design and it's refresh rate is a bit on the slow side compared to new flashes. For studio work or stills it's fine. Definitely wouldn't recommend for events, however.

    Inexpensive Powerhouse

    If you need a flash that "WORKS!", this is an excellent choice. It has master/slave capability and a terrific guide number, combined with reasonable recycle time. The e-TTL feature works perfectly on my units, and output can be adjusted on the camera or directly on the unit using the digital display. It can be purchased for 25 to 50% of the going price of high end units if you shop carefully.

    Wide Angle Coverage and Fast Recycle

    The Canon Speedlite 550EX is an work horse when it comes to photography. I love the wide angle aspect of it, as it covers most wide angle lens for splash. It also has a very fast recycle time that allows me to shoot photo after photo.
