    Probably the best French Learning series I've seen so far

    I've been through several of these beginning language courses and I have to say this is one of the better ones. There's not way you're going to really "learn" a language from some CD but this is better than most. Common sense terms and good annunciation which is repeated twice. I find this very helpful. If you are learning any language for the first time, it's incredibly difficult to understand anything at normal conversation speed, you have to start slow and listen over and over as well as try to speak.
