About this product

Product Information

From the bestselling team of Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard comes Killing Reagan , a page-turning epic account of the career of President Ronald Reagan that tells the vivid story of his rise to power--and the forces of evil that conspired to bring him down. The basis for the 2016 television movie available on streaming. Just two months into his presidency, Ronald Reagan lay near death after a gunman's bullet came within inches of his heart. His recovery was nothing short of remarkable -- or so it seemed. But Reagan was grievously injured, forcing him to encounter a challenge that few men ever face. Could he silently overcome his traumatic experience while at the same time carrying out the duties of the most powerful man in the world? Told in the same riveting fashion as Killing Lincoln , Killing Kennedy , Killing Jesus , and Killing Patton , Killing Reagan reaches back to the golden days of Hollywood, where Reagan found both fame and heartbreak, up through the years in the California governor's mansion, and finally to the White House, where he presided over boom years and the fall of the Iron Curtain. But it was John Hinckley Jr.'s attack on him that precipitated President Reagan's most heroic actions. In Killing Reagan , O'Reilly and Dugard take readers behind the scenes, creating an unforgettable portrait of a great man operating in violent times.

Seller communication was amazing! They had misplaced the item in their warehouse, but notified me as soon as they had figured out they had. They offered me a full refund which I did take; however when they happened to find it again, they notified me right away and were willing to hold off on re-listing the item until I was able to pay for it! Would 100% buy from this seller again of they have something that piques my interest. :)

    Interesting and thought provoking

Gives a lot of insight into the Reagans. Also provides a good view of the time in our country and the issues it had to address. Some of the inspirations were great and others points were tragic. Probably pretty factual and shows the "human" element that isn't always great. At other times it shows the "human" element that is truly outstanding.

    Not what was expected

This book casts a negative light on the Greatest President of our time, focusing more on scandal and partisan politics, rather than what Ronald Reagan inherited from a Nit Wit in 1981 and turned around in a few short years. Not much said on his ability to work with Congress dems and get issues addressed that affected everyday Citizens. Personally I will choose to remember the President for the Great things he did for a nation which suffered immensely under 4 years of inept Carter leadership. ie. tax cuts, bankrupted the soviet union, and began the dismantling of the Berlin wall... Evidently the American people were pleased as he won his 2nd term in a landlside with over 500 electoral votes.

  • Interesting Depiction

As always, O'Reilly's books are entertaining and dramatic. Only downside is I thought he went out of his way to make Reagan look flawed - as we all are - but I thought some "fact" was probably just inuendo - and Bill could have left that out in his zeal to be "balanced." Still worth buying and listening - just with a grain of salt as to Reagan's flaws...
