This set is made in China. On some parts the surface finnish is not very smooth. However this does not influence the accuracy. The digital indicator measures in thousandth of a millimeter. The spindle of the digital indicator seems to move very smooth and with minimal friction. The repeatability of the digital indicator itself seems to be very good. The digital indicator can be used independently in a magnetic stand for example. The magnetic stand needs a 3/8 inch bore to accomodate the digital indicator though, most other indicators need a 8mm bore in the magnetic stand to attach the indicator. The repeatability of the indicator/bore gauge assembly also seems to be very good, in the area of maybe 5 thousandths of a millimeter. However the calibration of the bore gauge needs to be done very carefully and accurate in order to achieve an accurate measurment. The bore gauge needs to be calibrated whenever a new anvil is put into place, so you need either a good quality micrometer set or a gauge block set to do this calibration.
