this is a verry good game. its way different than the main streem series, but its a clever little spin off that i did enjoy. i alredy had the game a while ago but my freind screwed up the one time only manafy event that allows your to unlock manafy on diamond/pearl/ possibly platinum, so i desided to get a new one so i can get the manafy event. the one thing that i really dont like but i do see an obvios reson for is that in the ranger ent you can only do the manafyu event once and your done and can never ever do it again on that game card, but i suppose if they let you do it as many times as you want it wouldnt be a legendary cause theyd be everyware and not rare art all. lol the story line and overall game experience is kinda dum now looking back but its alright for a one time only little kid game just to into duce them to video gameing(assuming they can read) i have seen some bad reveiws of people who think its a load of **** but thats just personal preference. i recomend before any purchase over $15, and i mean any, to do some research on it to make sure you really want it insted of just somethuing that youll be like thats cool and then only use once. more specificly for video games i tend to watch videos online of varios trailers and gameplay features to see if its any good. i personally hiley recommend this to anyone under 13-14 or to any one who wants to get manafy in thier diamond pearl or possibly and probaly platinum. :^)Read full review
The game gives a new take on Pokemon. unlike the traditional Pokemon games, you are a ranger and instead of capturing Pokemon, you use the styler to befriend a Pokemon, depending on how high your rank is, depends on how many Pokemon can accompany you. You use the different Pokemon to achieve different objectives. This game give a new spin on Pokemon and lets you experience Pokemon as a different type of character instead of a trainer. I have to say, the story is amusing and entertaining, but some times trying to "capturing" a Pokemon can be ridiculously frustrating. This game had a good concept, but it later Pokemon ranger games gave "life bars" to the Pokemon instead of trying to see how fast and frustrating to go from circling a Pokemon 14 times only to have it either not complete the last loop or have the Pokemon walk into the line. I think my biggest complaint was on the optional time coarse in the game. After "capturing" a Pokemon during the trial, the time still keeps going and even though you capture a Pokemon, sometime is sits there getting "beamed" up which waste time.Read full review

Much to the delight of Pokémaniacs the world over, Nintendo and Game Freak have finally brought a proper Pokémon game to the Nintendo DS with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and it delivers much of what a fan would desire—a richer, more detailed presentation, the ability to battle and trade Pokémon over the Internet, and of course, more than 100 brand-new Pokémon to collect. Like any of the core Pokémon games released since the original Red and Blue hit in 1999, Diamond and Pearl offer some nice upgrades, but if you didn't like Pokémon then, you probably won't care for it now. That said, it's a little surprising how well the formula holds up in Diamond and Pearl, which is a testament to the strong fundamentals of the series as well as the quality of the execution.
The game came earlier than expected! Had a case and all, the cartridge was a little dirty but nothing that a little alcohol couldn’t deal with. It works perfectly, I am very happy with it

I just finished Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia before starting this game and I thought that was an amazing spin-off to the main Pokemon Series - in fact the best of the Pokemon spin-offs, when compared to the Mystery Dungeons and others. I am just beginning this game and it looks, sounds, and feels just like it's sequel. I'm looking forward to enjoying an entirely new Ranger journey all over again. Now, Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia had a few differences in the main gameplay, like how you capture a wild pokemon (HP instead of number of loops). I don't really consider going back to the original Pokemon Ranger as a downgrade with respect to these differences. It just feels like something new instead - an alternative, but equally enjoyable aspect. All in all, I think most arguments out there say the original Pokemon Ranger is better than the sequel. Because I played the sequel first and loved it so much, I set myself up for a great time with this game. I hope they continue the Ranger series and come out with a third installment.Read full review

Capturing monsters in this game is widly different that the other more traditional games. you spin your stylus in circles around the monster in real time a certain amount of times, trying to not let the pokemon touch the circle you are drawing. This gameplay mechanic is a 100% gimmick; not fun at all; detracting, rather than improving on the pokemon formula. I only bought this game to sync with pokemon diamond and pearl, as there are certain pokemon that can only be obtained through this method. It was less than ten hours long, which is pathetic. In my case, this was a good thing because i didn't like the gameplay and wanted to get through it as quickly as possible. If people like the gameplay, there are extras after you beat the main story, so that provides some replay value. If you're not sure you or the person you are buying this for understand how the game works, don't buy it for them. Disappointment awaits. If they only want to game to add the exclusive monsters to their pokedex, go ahead, but know what you're getting yourself into.Read full review
I replayed this game a couple times but it’s severely lacking in post game content due to most of the event missions not being available at this time. The captures in this game can get a bit annoying at times because you have to keep the stylus on the touchscreen. I like the various Poke assists and clearing targets. I love the partner Pokémon and I liked the storyline.
