I am not a big fan of video games. Our nine year old is hooked on them it seems. So when my husband purchased this one for our two year old, I thought, "here we go again". However, it's nice. It allows our two year old to play and hang out w/our nine year old. The nine year old likes the games, the two year old likes that it's a CARS game. Also, when just the two year old wants to play, he can just drive around Radiator Springs w/out having to worry about winning or losing. He just gets a kick out of driving it around. All in all, I'd say it was a much more successful purchase than I thought it would be and I don't mind it nearly as much as I thought I would lol.
I have two small boys, 5 yrs and 2 yrs who LOVE the cars movie and love playing racing games on the xbox, so we decided this game would be perfect for them. My 5 yr old loves the game (my 2 yr old loves to watch his brother). He really enjoys collecting the points so he can buy new cars. Sometimes the missions get a bit tricky for him because the directional arrows point in directions the car won't go due to the end of screen. Usually his Dad can help him find his way around the dead end and get back on track though. Great game overall, I'd highly recommend it for a younger xbox fan.
My son is a CARS fanatic! If they made it for the movie, we got it! This game has a little bit of everything for everybody. I'm a Burnout fan and NASCAR fan so I like the races...the pit stops are a little challenging and you have to know your buttons, but it does keep you hopping! My husband loves Sarge's training camp game with all the stunts...over this, around that, jump the huge pile of dirt. Luke's favorite? Tractor tipping!! That and chaning Ligtning's color all the time. It's neat to learn to drive backwards too (no, it isn't as easy as it sounds). Learn all of these skills to use them in the Piston Cup Races to win the championship. They've done a good job of incorporating all of the characters and their unique jobs in the town into this game. It makes you feel like you are really out in this desert driving up on hills and doing donuts...and then you can go back and watch a movie of your favorite parts! Now if I could only find all of Lizzie's postcards...Read full review
The graphics are great and it feels like you are actually in Radiator Springs. My three year old son loves to play the tractor tipping game and got the hang of playing the game fairly quick. I even enjoy playing the different games myself. I bought this game because my son and I enjoyed seeing this movie at the theater and since he also enjoys playing with Matchbox cars, etc. it also makes it a great game to play with younger kids. I also was looking for a game where two players could play simultaneously instead of alot of the other gamecube games that are only for 1 player
I bought this game because I've still got the original Xbox and need some kids games. Unfortunately, most of the xbox games were either shooting games or complex sports games. This is a nice game that the kids will enjoy - but don't think it's going to keep them occupied for that long. It does get a bit boring after a while...it's just racing around a track. There is a tractor-tipping part of the game that your kids will probably enjoy more than the racing part. IMO, that was probably more worth the money than the main game. Either way, if you are looking for kids games for your original Xbox and don't want to shell out serious coinage for the xbox360 than go with this game.
