This adapter allowed this old Minolta lens from the 1980's for a film camera to be used on my Sony A-6500 digital camera. Adapting these affordable lenses is a great way to stretch my budget!!

This adapter is still fairly expensive, even though it's the old APS C only model. But it lets you use lenses that are much less expensive. For instance, my copy of the LA-EA2 and a Minolta a-mount 70-210mm f4 "beercan" lens cost $180 total. $155 for the adapter and $25 for the lens itself. That isn't cheap when you're starting out, but Sony wants $1500🤯 for essentially the same zoom range and aperature in a native E-Mount lens. I have found that autofocus is as fast with A-Mount lenses as it is with native E-mount lenses. The A mount lenses are loud, though. The screw drive lenses especially.
