From the first glance of the overly cheesy cover art I knew this game would not compare to the original. I am a huge fan of Legendary Axe which was exclusively released in 1989 on TurboGrafx-16. Legendary Axe II released in 1990 is unusual because it shares the same title name but is not linked to the first game thematically or stylistically. Overall the game is still fairly enjoyable with several different weapons to use and some decent music (stage 2 theme WOW!) I would recommend this game to TurboGrafx-16 owners, just do not expect a direct sequel or it to surpass the original!
Great graphics, sound and music, but gameplay is lacking, not enough weapons, poor character design, character has no attack variety, main weapon too small, pictured much bigger on the manual, very misleading
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Everyone with a turbografx 16 should try to get this game! Awesome... Also the TG16 game: Bloody Wolf, BETTER THAN NES CONTRA!
